Food Rescue
Good food shouldn’t go to waste while people go hungry.
Love Soup rescues quality surplus food from businesses and suppliers and redirects it to people and community organisations that can put it to good use.
Why food rescue matters
Every day, perfectly good food can become surplus because of changing stock levels, short dates, packaging changes or simply having more than can be sold.
At the same time, people in those same communities can be struggling to put food on the table.
Love Soup helps connect the two.
How it works
01
We collect
Volunteer drivers collect quality surplus food from supermarkets, bakeries, suppliers and participating businesses.
02
We sort
Our teams check and sort the food so it can be shared appropriately.
03
We distribute
Food is redirected into community pantries, pataka kai’s, shared at community meals and other foodbanks that also help people locally.
Less waste. More good.
On the Hibiscus Coast alone:
2.5

130

3,400

Food rescue works because communities work together.
